Can you help ‘The Kingswood Players’?

They have bravely created their own ‘Calendar Girls’ Calendar for 2013 and are looking for local businesses to sponsor each month.

For just £40 you can have your company logo and sponsoring name on one month’s page of the calendar.

The Calendars will then be sold to raise funds at each of the performances in October (Fri 12th, Sat 13th, Fri 19th & Sat 20th).

I went along and gratefully accepted the cheque and thanked everyone involved for their generous support. Brian Dart (Chairman), who was also present, explained that our charity had been chosen by the Director, Jen Gallagher, as her father was currently undergoing treatment for leukaemia.

From the photos I had seen it looked like it was a fabulous few nights and I look forward to being able to attend next years event.

As you can see our new banner had its first outing, although I think our volunteers were a little camera shy.

Big thank you to all the volunteers and to Tesco for allowing us to collect in their Lime Tress Road Superstore.

There are two walks to choose from; A leisurely 3 miles which leaves Clarence Park and follows the promenade all the way to the Weston Pier or we have a more challenging 7 mile route for those who wish to walk a bit further.

The shorter walk is suitable for all abilities as the route is completely flat and off road, great for buggies and wheelchair users. The longer route has a more challenging terrain as it goes into Weston Woods, but I am sure those with faithful companions (doggies!!) would love it!!

We will also have stalls, a bouncy castle for the little ones and most importantly tea, coffee and cakes! A great day out for all the family…

Entry is £7.50 for adults, £5.00 for children (5-16) and £20.00 for a family (2 adults, 2 children OR 1 adult, 3 children). Under 5′s are FREE.

The St Andrew’s Players are putting on a performance of Calamity Jane – The Panto in aid of our charity and Shine Together.

The production will be held at St Andrew’s Methodist Church, Elm Park, Filton, Bristol BS34 7PS.
Wednesday, 15th to Saturday, 18th February, starting at 7.30 pm
Saturday Matinee, 18th February, starting at 2.30pm

Our team all donned our Robin outfits and entertained the crowds with our amazing rowing skills, lol!
The first race was fab, we managed to pull away from the other team. In our second race we got absolutely thrashed!! And our third race we finally got it together and really pulled it out of the bag and came second. I think we came about 14th which wasn’t bad for a team that had never met, let alone rowed together!

We all had so much fun, we can’t wait to have another go at it next year. Anyone who wants to join in next time, you’re most welcome!

Thousands of runners, thousands of people watching, dry sunny weather, a perfect day for the Bristol Half Marathon.

It was great to see so many illuminous yellow shirts all in one place and between the team they all raised a huge amount of money, £13,000!

I can’t thank all the team enough for the efforts you put into training and raising money for our charity, you are all fabulous!

As well as a FREE drink on arrival and a delicious three course dinner (3 different choices available) there will be a raffle, small auction and then everyone can let their hair down and boogie into the small hours of the morning.

Arrival time – 7pm with dinner being served at 8pm.

Hotels rooms have been secured at a discounted rate for parties wishing to stay overnight and FREE parking is available in Cabot Circus Carpark.
