Apart from the odd charity run and dress down day I hadn’t really been involved in charity / fundraising, that was until my Granddad passed away in 2007 due to Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia.

Stories – Jack Radford
Diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) July 2004.
I was working away from home when I was called by Jacks mother and told he has leukaemia. My world turned upside-down, I dropped everything and spent the 4 hours driving home desperately trying to get some understanding about the disease, I knew these days it was survivable but had a friend that died of it only last year.

Fairly new to fundraising, I’ve done what most people do, put money in collection tins and given donations where I can. When a member of my family developed Cancer, it pushed me to run the Bath Half Marathon in 2003 for Cancer Research.

At the age of 25, and with everything to live for, my son Philip was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic lymphoma. We were told it was rare and difficult to treat.

Liz’s brother Oliver lost his fight with Leukaemia at the age of nine. At the time Liz was just 4. Liz and her family have been involved in raising funds for Bristol Branch ever since.
