As mentioned before, a big thank and well done needs to go to Lawrence for completing the gruelling, 103 mile Verenti Cornwall Tor on Sunday 16th May.
His fantastic efforts managed to raise an enormous £3003.00
Lawrence said “It was a very tough ride particularly the section along the north Cornish coast and I certainly have a new found appreciation for how hilly Cornwall really is. However it was a great experience and I am very pleased to have raised money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research”.

A big thank you needs to go to Simon Winslow, the Chairman of the Consumer Credit Association.
Our charity is close to Simon’s heart as his sister (Mrs Burridge) was diagnosed with CML in 2008 and felt he wanted to help in some way.
So, back in April they had their National Convention at The Royal Marriott in Bristol and managed to raise an impressive £2,500 from a raffle.
I travelled to Swindon last week to visit him and his father, at their company premises, and picked up a cheque which was delivered to our AGM meeting that evening…
Also another thank you goes to Lawrence Burridge (husband to Mrs Burridge) for taking part in the Cornwall Tor 2010 cycle race, where on the grapevine I believe he raised over £2900!

What a fab week we had when the Calendar Girls were here (not a brill photo, but you get the idea!). We sold a lot of merchandise, £2202.49 worth and the theatre arranged a collection on the door which helped raise the amazing amount of £4094.47!!
I can’t thank the Bristol Hippodrome and their staff enough, we were made to feel very welcome and really appreciated their help with the collection, so thank you!!

We were extremely lucky with the weather and the sun was shining on the morning of our Bikeathon.
The first to set of after their photo shoot with the paper, were the team cycling to Loughborough, six of Eddie Gregg’s closest friends from his Loughborough University football team, decided to raise money for leukaemia research.
To do this, they cycled from Eddie’s home town of Bristol, to Loughborough University in two days (30th & 31st May). This distance of 140 miles was covered by his friends Liam Kane, Joe Whibley, Lee Margerison, Tony Strudwick, Chris Jones, Tom Curtis and Chris Kerr. Essential support for these ex-student footballers during their cycle, was provided by friends, family members and Eddie’s father Alan. Between them they have raised an astounding £17,674.71 and it is still rising, please go to www.justgiving.com/eddiegregg to make a donation.
Then at 10am all our riders set off for the pretty ride around North Somerset. From talking to riders as they returned everyone enjoyed the route, although a few tweaks are needed to be made for next years event!
The weekend was hard work but worth all the effort and hopefully we can build on this one and make it bigger and better for next year.
A big thank you to everyone that took part, hopefully see you at the next one!
